Honoring the Legacy of Cato Howe

The Cato Howe Freedom & Legacy Grant is dedicated to assisting historians and genealogists in researching the lives and experiences of enslaved individuals and their descendants. Named after Cato Howe, a formerly enslaved man who fought in the American Revolutionary War and later became a founding member of the Parting Ways community, this grant supports efforts to uncover and preserve these vital histories.
